Herzog: I consider Israel’s interests in Netanyahu’s pardon request – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Al-Mayadin, the president of the Zionist regime, Isaac Herzog, responded to the request of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to grant him amnesty, stressing that Netanyahu’s action has worried many. He claimed that he will consider “only the interests of Israel and Israelis” in this decision.
In a statement issued by his office, Herzog added that “violent discourse” will not dissuade him from his decision and that the pardon request will be carefully and clearly considered.
In this regard, the Zionist newspaper “Israel Hum” asked for Netanyahu’s pardon and added that Netanyahu apparently wants Herzog to grant him amnesty “based on the public interest”, but in practice he is proposing a deal whereby judicial reforms are canceled in exchange for amnesty.
In this request, Netanyahu has promised that the amnesty will enable him to work for the unity of the Zionists and even address other issues such as the judicial system and the media.
The newspaper believes that Netanyahu is effectively proposing to abandon judicial reforms by referring to a return to extrajudicial proceedings.
