Shooting at US National Guard troops near the White House

Reuters wrote that Washington police also announced separately that there was a shooting near the White House and that a suspect was arrested and the area was under control.

Patrick Morrissey, the governor of West Virginia, announced that 2 members of the American National Guard who were from this state died due to the severity of the injuries caused by the shooting, but minutes later he corrected his article on X and wrote: We are now receiving conflicting reports about the condition of our 2 members of the National Guard and will provide an update as soon as we receive more complete information.

US Secretary of War Pete Hegst also announced that Trump has ordered 500 additional troops to be sent to Washington.
