Trump’s comments came less than 24 hours after his earlier post on the Social Truth website criticized Ukraine’s leadership for “not appreciating” US efforts to end the conflict. However, after a day of intense talks in Geneva on Sunday, US officials appeared to be “more optimistic” about progress in ending the war, according to CNN.

These comments come as the US and Ukraine continue to work on a “revised” peace plan to end the war with Russia, according to a joint Washington-Kiev statement. Separately, the White House said the Ukrainian delegation had told them the plan “reflects their national interests” and “addresses their core strategic imperatives,” though Kiev did not release a statement.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin announced its readiness for further dialogue and negotiation with the United States. However, a Kremlin spokesman said a meeting between the Russian and US delegations was not expected this week, adding that there were no specific details about the talks.

Dmitry Peskov also noted that he is waiting for information about possible reforms that have apparently been implemented in the US plan for the settlement of Ukraine.
