Beijing’s response to Britain’s accusation of spying on the country’s parliament
Today (Wednesday), China rejected the British accusation of spying on the country’s parliament and emphasized: “We do not interfere in the affairs of other countries.”
According to RCO News Agency, in the midst of the escalation of tensions with London, China rejected the British intelligence agency’s accusations of trying to spy on the London Parliament and emphasized that it does not interfere in the affairs of other countries and has no interest in collecting information from British institutions.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning told a press conference that Beijing “absolutely does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and has no interest in gathering so-called information from the British Parliament.”
China’s stance comes after Britain’s intelligence service issued a new warning to members of London’s parliament on Tuesday, alleging “attempts by Chinese agents to influence parliamentary activities and gather information on British institutions,” the latest accusation against Beijing of spying on the British parliament.
