This voting was done on Monday night (local time) and on the 41st day of the American government holiday. The final approval of this bill happened a day after the initial vote on Sunday night (local time).
Now the bill will be sent to the House of Representatives for final approval; The parliament, which has not held a vote since September 19, is expected to resume its work on Wednesday.
On Sunday night, a group of moderate Democratic senators, tired of the continued political deadlock, joined with the Republicans to pass the temporary resolution of the House of Representatives known as the “Continuity of Funding Resolution” in the Senate. The Democrats had previously blocked the advancement of this bill 14 times.
