Hungary announced the condition of Putin-Trump meeting
Referring to the possibility of a meeting between the presidents of Russia and America in Budapest, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary stated a condition about it.
According to RCO News Agency, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, “Peter Sziarto”, announced on Sunday evening: “Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will meet in Budapest if they reach an agreement on how to end the war in Ukraine.”
According to the “Tass” News agency, the Hungarian foreign minister emphasized: “The US leader is determined to continue his peacekeeping efforts, but so far no one can predict when he will meet with his Russian counterpart.”
Ciarto, who accompanied Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on his trip to the United States and was present at the talks with Donald Trump, said: “This summit will be held with the presence of the Russian and American presidents if an agreement is reached that will end the war that has been going on for three and a half years near us.”
On October 16, after a phone conversation with Vladimir Putin, Trump announced that they had agreed to meet soon in Budapest. However, the summit was later postponed as the two sides failed to agree on how to achieve a meaningful outcome in resolving the conflict in Ukraine. Both Moscow and Washington said the meeting was “postponed, not cancelled, and will be held when the conditions are right.”
