4 killed in the new US attack on another ship in the Pacific Ocean – Mehr News Agency | RCO News Agency
According to RCO News Agency, quoted by France 24, the US military once again attacked another boat in the eastern Pacific Ocean, which it claims was smuggling drugs, and killed four people in the process. The attack brought the death toll from Washington’s purported anti-drug campaign in the Caribbean to at least 62, according to US Secretary of War Pete Hegst.
Hegst claimed on the X social network that the attack took place in international waters, and the video he posted along with his message shows a boat floating motionless on the water, and then a huge explosion and the fire catches fire.
In this video, like the previous videos released by the US President Donald Trump’s administration, parts of the boat are blurred, which makes it impossible to confirm the number of people on board.
These attacks began in early September, and according to experts, even if their target is known smugglers, it is equivalent to extrajudicial killings, and Washington has not yet provided any evidence to prove its claim about these boats; Boats that Venezuela has called fishing. Last night’s deadly attack came two days after multiple attacks on four boats in the eastern Pacific Ocean that left 14 dead.
Washington has seven Navy warships, F-35 stealth fighters and the USS Gerald R. has sent Ford to the area. The United States calls the deployment of forces and a large military presence in the waters near Venezuela an anti-narcotics operation, but Caracas sees it as a cover for military action aimed at overthrowing the government of Nicolas Maduro, the president of this country.
The Trump administration has called Maduro the leader of drug traffickers and has set a $50 million reward for information leading to his arrest. Maduro has insisted that drugs are not grown in Venezuela at all and that the country is being used against his will as a route to transport cocaine from Colombia.
