Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Palestinian Authority, said at a two -state conference chaired by France and Saudi Arabia in New York, saying: “We call for aid to enter Gaza, the departure of the occupiers and the release of Israeli captives.”

“I thank Egypt, Qatar and the United States for the mediation of Egypt, Qatar and the United States, and praise the positions of Egypt and Jordan in opposition to the forced migration of the Palestinian people,” he said.

Abbas also said in a speech to the Zionist regime, the US and Western countries: Hamas and other groups must submit their weapons to the Palestinian organization and will not play a role in Gaza.

“We want an unarmed Palestinian state,” he said.

Abbas said: “We want to stop settlement, join the Palestinian lands, end the violence of settlements, and attack sacred places.”

The conference on the “Two -State Solution” hosted by France and Saudi Arabia, with dozens of leaders in the world, began in New York Monday night to recognize the independent Palestinian state.

The purpose of the meeting is to gain support for the two -state solution and it is expected that several countries will formally recognize the Palestinian state; An action that could have strong reactions from Israel and the United States.
