US President Donald Trump said at a cabinet meeting at the White House: “The clashes in Ukraine have been too long and I expect the clash to end very quickly.”

He added: “It is very long … but I hope to solve the Gaza issues and the Ukrainian conflict with Russia very quickly.”

He said that maintaining good relations with Russia and China is “much better than not”.

“I want an agreement to end the war in Ukraine and I believe I will succeed,” Trump said.

“We have economic sanctions on the war in Ukraine and we will not enter World War III,” he said.
