Witcaf: Gaza meeting on Wednesday in White House – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to West Asia said that a meeting will be held on Gaza on Wednesday at Trump’s White House, and a very comprehensive plan for Gaza will be discussed after the end of the war.
He added: “The official stance of the Trump administration is to reject any partial agreement and demand a single return of all Israeli prisoners.”
“There must be an agreement and Israeli prisoners return to their homes, and Hamas should play no role in the future government in Gaza,” Witakaf said. These are the conditions of the Israelis as well as President Trump.
“Civilian casualties are a disaster, but this is happening within the war,” Trump’s envoy added.
President Trump will head the White House on Wednesday, and this will be a big meeting.
In response to the question of who created the most obstacle to the end of the Gaza war, Witcaf claimed that Hamas prevented the end of the war in Gaza.
He added: “In the past six or seven weeks, an agreement has been on the table and Hamas has taken time.”
Responding to a question about whether he believes Hamas should be eliminated, he said: “This is not my decision and I think there should be an agreement.”
Trump’s envoy said Hamas has now implicitly announced that it is ready to agree, and that Israel has also announced its readiness to continue talks with Hamas.
“We believe that the situation in Gaza in any way will definitely be resolved before the end of this year,” he said.
