Trump: Putin and Zelnsky better meet me – Mehr News Agency | News of Iran and the World
US President Donald Trump said he believes that the first meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Ukrainian counterpart, Waldimir Zelnski, should be held without him (Trump).
Trump met with Putin in Alaska last Friday and then hosted Zelnski and European leaders in Washington. He emphasized that the parties would move towards a sustainable agreement without achieving the initial ceasefire.
“I had a very successful meeting with Putin,” he said in a conversation with Mark Levin’s radio program. With Zelkski too. And now I think it’s better to meet me without me. Only as soon as we know what is going to be; I want to know how this meeting is going!
The US President added: You know, they had a stressful relationship; A very, very bad relationship. And now we will see how they are going, and if necessary, of course, I will enter if necessary and possibly boil the agreement.
Zelksky told reporters yesterday that he was ready to meet Putin. While the Kremlin did not comment on the proposal, Putin said earlier this year that he was ready to meet Zleansky in the final stage of the talks.
Putin’s adviser Yuri Oshakov said yesterday that Moscow supports the continuation of “direct talks between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations.”
