“Donald Trump has not contacted me,” said Zahran Mamdani at a press conference in response to reports that the US president is investigating the municipal competition and seeking a candidate to defeat him.

In another part of his remarks, he emphasized that “his stance on the US government will not be a hasty reaction, but rather a clear position in opposition to Trump’s policies, especially when these policies harm the New York interests or end at the expense of the popular welfare he wants to serve.”
