Iraqi News Agency quoted Iraqi News Agency WaitThe Iraqi Foreign Ministry has announced that it welcomes a number of countries to recognize the Palestinian state.

A statement from the Iraqi Foreign Ministry said the ministry welcomes the announcement of a number of friendly countries to recognize the Palestinian state.

According to the statement, France, Canada, Malta, the United Kingdom, as well as Portugal are at the top of the countries, who have announced that the UN General Assembly will begin taking official steps along the next September.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry stressed that removing such steps is an important support for the international process for the realization of justice for the Palestinian nation and provides the basis for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in the capital of Quds Sharif.
