Uruguayan President’s Speech at Democracy Forever – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news

Uruguay’s President Jamando Orsu, speaking at a summit at Santiago Chile, said that democracy sometimes loses its credibility among societies, stressing that democracy was the best way to do it.

He added: “The meeting was aimed at examining and thinking about the importance as well as addressing the shortcomings and difficulties in the democratic lifestyle.”

In his speech, Orsi emphasized that the concept of democracy should be in the center of agenda forever, and expressed hope that other world leaders will also join the summit, which has been criticized for the rethinking of democracy.

In his remarks, the President of Uruguay called for an attempt to prevent the growth of extremism and the loss of confidence in dialogue, and the plan and suggestions in this regard at the UN summit in September to raise awareness and provide a way to people to identify and understand problems- which democracy is definitely able to solve.

The Democracy Summit was forever hosted by President Gabriel Boric, attended by four other progressive leaders, including Brazilian President Luis Inacio Dasilva, Colombian President Gustavo Petro, Uruguayan President Jamando Orsi and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
