Kremlin: West moves to exacerbate nuclear stress – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov (Kremlin) took a stand on Ukraine -Russia talks, according to Mehr News Agency.
“There is no sign of progress in the new round of negotiations, and Russia is seeking to guarantee its interests,” he said.
Peskov emphasized: Russia believes that the West is moving towards exacerbating tensions, including nuclear tensions.
At the same time, he expressed hope for the new round of talks this week.
It is noteworthy that Ukrainian President Waldimir Zelnsky announced that the third round of Kiev and Russia talks will take place in Türkiye on Wednesday.
While Zelksky announced the talks on Wednesday, the Dice news agency quoted a source as saying that the third round of Russian and Ukraine talks will take place on July 6 (Thursday, August 2).
“The meeting is planned for July 6, but the delegations may reach Istanbul on July 6,” the source added.
Moscow and Kiev have so far negotiated two rounds that head the Ukrainian delegation in both rounds.
The first round of Russian -Ukraine direct talks was held in Istanbul on May 9, which led to the largest exchange of prisoners in the form of “a thousand against a thousand”, but there was no progress in peace.
The second round of negotiations between the two countries took place in Istanbul on June 6, which led to an agreement to exchange at least 1,600 war captives on every side and the return of thousands of people killed.
