Barack: Israel prefers the decomposed Syria – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
Tom Barack, US ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy of White House in Damascus, acknowledges the map. Israel For Syria, he said that Tel Aviv “prefers a decomposed Syrian.”
He said there is no alternative plan to cooperate with current officials to unite a country that is still suffering from a nearly six -year civil war and now struggling with the prevalence of new sectarian violence.
Barack criticized its “timing” in a critical tone of the recent Zionist regime’s intervention in Syria, saying that the move would complicate efforts to stabilize the region.
He added: Israel’s intervention happened in a very bad time. Massacre, revenge, massacre on both sides is unbearable.
But in my opinion, the current Syrian government has done the best possible as a fledgling government with very low resources to address numerous issues in an effort to bring together a diverse society. But the Syrian authorities must be held accountable for violations.
He once again emphasized that Israel’s intervention opens another very complex season and happened in a very bad time.
The US Special Envoy in Syria claimed: When the last clashes began, Israel’s view was that South Damascus was a suspicious region, so whatever happened militarily in the area must be agreed and discussed. But the new government (in Syria) that came to power did not have that.
Barack pointed to a fragile ceasefire in Syria and added: The ceasefire announced on Saturday between Syria and Israel is a limited agreement that only deals with Sweda. The agreement does not include wider issues, including Israel’s claim that the southern Damascus region should be a civilian region.
Asked if he thinks that the United States is able to interfere in the internal affairs of an independent state, he acknowledged: Israel prefers to see Syria as fragmented and divided until a strong central government has controlled the country.
Barack acknowledged that strong national governments are a threat, especially the Arab countries as a threat to Israel. But in Syria, I think all minority societies are smart enough to say, we are better and concentrated.
He also claimed that violence in Sweda would not take the ceasefire talks and could make progress in the coming weeks. “It is not in the interest of the United States to tell any of the surrounding countries what to do with each other,” he said.
