Russia: NATO’s expansion must be stopped
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said the NATO stoppage is still a major issue for Moscow and that the conflict in Ukraine cannot be resolved without dealing with it.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov also continued: “The United States should take practical steps aimed at stopping and eliminating the main roots and reasons for the fundamental security confrontation between us and ourselves.”
“These reasons include the expansion of NATO to the east, which is the most important issue,” Ryabkov also said.
“It is impossible to resolve the conflict between Russia and the West without addressing this important issue,” he said. “This is the root of the conflicts and conflicts between us.”
According to the senior Russian diplomat, Washington seems to be aware of the complex nature of the current situation, but has no hurry to provide some hasty weapons control initiatives.
“Anyway, we have never seen any signs of this issue from the US,” he continued.
