Britain makes new offensive submarines
The British Defense Secretary announced today (Monday) London’s intention to build four nuclear submarines as part of Achos’s agreement with the United States and Australia.
British Defense Minister John Haley said in a statement released on the government website, “British Prime Minister Kerry Starmer plans today to announce that the nuclear submarine fleet with the country’s conventional weapons will be significantly expanded and will be built up to five SSN-Aukus.”
British Secretary of Defense also quoted British Secretary of Defense as saying that these new vessels will replace the ASTUTE class submarines, which are currently owned by the British Navy.
In February, Starmer announced London’s plans to increase defense costs to 4.9 percent of GDP since April and 3 % of GDP in the next parliament.
