Another member of NATO charged China
The Dutch defense minister claimed that China had intensified the spy on its country and its industries, especially by focusing on the semiconductor production industry.
In an interview on the sidelines of the Shangri-La-L-L-LEF Security Summit in Singapore, Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Barcrims: “China is interested in the semiconductor industry, a leading and advanced technological industry to gain intellectual ownership.”
In April last year, the Netherlands Military Intelligence Agency claimed in an annual report that the Chinese spies of the Dutch industries in the air-to-air, semiconductor and maritime targeted spying to help increase the power of the Chinese armed forces.
“The attacks continue,” Berkims went on to say that. In its latest intelligence report, our intelligence agency considers China the biggest cyber threat and more cyber activities are taking place against us. “While the report had this assessment about last year, this is still true and we are only seeing it intensified.”
Although the US and other Western countries claim China’s cyber spy against themselves and their industries, Beijing has repeatedly rejected the accusation of all forms of cyber attack by rejecting the accusations, Reuters reported.
Berkims also said in the speech that security for the Netherlands is increasing as “China uses its economic position for geopolitical purposes as well as pressure”.
“The Netherlands has provided tools to protect its important industries and vital interests, but the country and the region should reduce China’s dependence on vital raw materials,” the Netherlands said. “We need larger steps to reduce those dependencies both at the EU and at the national level.”
Prior to the Netherlands, the Czech Republic had also claimed that China had carried out a cyberattack against the State Department, resulting in thousands of non -productive files and emails.
