US President Donald Trump appointed Barack as his special envoy to Syria on Wednesday night.
At the end of the ceremony, two sides emphasized the importance of gradual confidence, expanding cooperation horizons and strengthening consultations on various issues in the interests of the Syrian nation and strengthening stability throughout the region.
The US ambassador’s residence in Damascus was opened today, with no official statement on the reopening of the embassy in Syria yet.
After the ceremony, Barack went to the Syrian insurgency leader Abu Muhammad al -Julani.

“President Donald Trump will announce that Syria is not a country of terrorism,” Barack said.
The US envoy to Syria added: “Trump’s approach is that the Syrian government should not interfere with non -interference.”
“Washington is seeking peace between Syria and Israel, and this is a problem, but work begins with dialogue,” he said.
“I think we need to start with a non -rape agreement between Syria and Israel and talking about the borders,” Barack said.
