Moscow announced the Lavrov and Rubio telephone conversation about Ukraine
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the US Secretary of State and the US Secretary of State had a telephone conversation about the preparation for the next round of Russian -Ukraine talks in Istanbul.
According to RCO News Agency, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday evening: “Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov referred to US Secretary of State Marko Rubio on May 9 between Russian and US presidents.”
“The Russian Foreign Minister also informed Rubio’s Foreign Minister about preparing the Russian side for the next round of direct Russian -Ukraine negotiations in Istanbul,” the Russian Foreign Minister also said.
The ministry added that Rubio expressed the US readiness to facilitate the approach of the parties’ positions to quickly resolve the conflict, while also emphasizing their commitment to continuing constructive and reciprocal conversations with respect to the issues on the bilateral agenda.
Prior to announcing the call, Sergei Lavrov proposed a historic to negotiate with Ukraine, and he said the parties could meet on June 2 (June 12).
