Signing the German parties’ agreement to form a cabinet
The German Chancellor announced today (Monday) that the two -party coalition block of the German Social Union and the German Democratic Union, as well as the Social Democratic Party, have signed a coalition agreement to form a new cabinet.

The agreement came after the German conservative and middle parties reached an agreement to form a new German government after weeks of negotiations and paved the way for a new leadership in Europe’s largest economy after months of political deadlock.
According to the agreement, Friedrich Merts, leader of the Middle Party of the Christian Democratic Union, is to replace the current Chancellor Olaf Schultz.
The Bilateral Union of the Union -led by Merts appeared as the strongest political force in the February 6 election. Merts went to the Social Democratic Party, the Middle Party of Schultz, to form a coalition with a parliamentary majority.
