The Republic of Azerbaijan and China signed a strategic cooperation agreement
The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who traveled to China, announced the launch of a comprehensive strategic cooperation between Beijing and Baku after meeting with the president.
According to RCO News Agency, Chinese President Shi Jinping today (Wednesday) met with his counterpart from Azerbaijan in Beijing, and the parties announced the start of a comprehensive strategic cooperation between Baku and Beijing.
The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who traveled to Beijing, met with the Chinese leader today. Prior to the meeting, the official welcome ceremony of the Azerbaijani president, which was on an official trip to China, was held.
The Presidential Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan said: “Elham Aliyev and Shi Jinping signed a joint statement on the creation of a comprehensive strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China.”
Following bilateral talks, the parties also saw the signing of two cooperation documents in areas such as joint construction within the framework of the Belt and Road project, the judicial system, green development, digital economy, intellectual property, space exploration and other areas.
Prior to his trip to China, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan emphasized that Baku and Beijing strengthened their partnerships in the fields of trade, climatic cooperation and common multilateral goals, despite the pressure of some Western actors.
On the eve of his trip, Aliyev said in an interview with China’s Shinhwa News Agency that relations between Baku and Beijing had “entered a historic stage” following a joint statement by the strategic co -authors he signed with the Chinese president in July.
“We have always defended its interests as part of the South World block (developing countries),” he said.
