Zelnsky: We do not recognize the occupation of Crimea by Russia
Minutes after the publication of the Washington Post report, the Ukrainian president cited Crimea’s opposition as part of Russian territory.
According to RCO News Agency, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday’s talks in London between European, American and Ukrainian officials, citing conscious sources that Washington would offer Crimea to Ukraine.
According to Rasha Todi, Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelnsky said in response to the report of the American newspaper: “Ukraine will not recognize the occupation of Crimea by Russia, and this is contrary to the constitution.”
Zelnsky also pointed to the issue of ceasefire and negotiations: “As long as the ceasefire is in place, Ukraine is ready to negotiate with Russia in any format.”
The Ukrainian president also announced his interest in meeting US President Donald Trump in the Vatican.
Trump has earlier announced that she will travel to the Vatican for the funeral and ceremony of Pope Francis, who died at the age of nine.
