US refusal to sign a joint statement of Group 4 against Russia
Informed sources said the United States has refused to sign the Group Seven statement in Russia’s condemnation.
According to RCO News Agency, sources today (Tuesday) said the United States refused to sign the Group Seven statement (US, Canada, Japan, Italy, France, Britain and Germany) condemning Russia’s last Sunday attack in Ukraine.
Bloomberg News Agency reported that the Trump administration had informed its allies in the group because it was trying to maintain the “peace talks” in Ukraine, not signing the joint statement.
The Russian Defense Ministry announced last Sunday that the armed forces carried out an attack against the headquarters of the Ukrainian army commanders in the third that killed four Ukrainian troops, however, Ukrainian President Walodimer Zelnski claimed that four civilians were killed in the attack.
US President Donald Trump told reporters in response to the last Russian attack to the third attack: “I think the attack was a horrific act, they told me that they made a mistake, but I think it was a terrible act, the whole of the war was terrible.
When reporters asked the US president to make a clearer meaning of using the word “wrong”, he said, “They were wrong … you have to ask themselves.”
The US National Security Council earlier on Sunday cited the Russian invasion as “a clear testimony to the necessity of President Trump’s efforts to end this devastating war at the present time.”
While Donald Trump and the White House refused to refer directly to Moscow as the cause of the attack, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had earlier condoled “victims of the terrible Russian missile attack on the third.”
The attack came just two days after the US President’s special envoy to Moscow and meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to advance the Trump peace plan.
Trump’s journey was aimed at ending the war in Ukraine.
