Algeria called for the withdrawal of four French embassy within 4 hours
The French Foreign Minister said Algeria has called on four French officials to leave the country within four hours, adding that the issue was associated with the arrest of three Algerian nationals in France.
“I urge Algerian officials to abandon these firing measures … If the decision to dismiss our authorities, we will have no choice but to respond,” ISNA reported.
A diplomatic source told AFP that the four included some members of the French Interior Ministry.
The indictment is issued in a critical time in the relationship between Algeria and its former colonial power, with Algeria claiming the move aims to eliminate recent efforts to repair relations.
