The Trump administration canceled a visa; foreign students of Columbia University – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
The US Department of Homeland Security has revoked four foreign students at Colombia University for participating in Palestinian protection demonstrations, according to the Mehr News Agency.
Angela, the first head of the Colombian University, said in a statement that “it does not know when these students have been canceled”!
According to him, the University of Colombia has discovered their visas through daily review of the Student Information System and Visitors’ Exchange (SEVIS), and US President Donald Trump’s administration did not inform them.
He also cited various reports that the US Department of Homeland Security has targeted students for participating in Palestinian protests or even minor criminal offenses, announcing the deprived visa and the Ministry of Homeland Security directly to leave the country immediately.
Minnesota State University also announced last week that the visa of five foreign students at the university was canceled for unknown reasons.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced March 5 that the ministry has canceled more than 5 students due to inappropriate social activities in the university environment. “We gave you a visa to study and get a degree, not to become a civil activist and to break the environment of our universities,” he said. “If we gave you a visa and you decided to do so, we will retrieve the visa.”
