Probably 1.5 million Ukrainian after the war will no longer return to their country
The Ukrainian National Unity Minister said Friday that out of the five million Ukrainian citizens currently in the European Union, 1.5 million people will return to their country after the end of the war, while more likely to remain in the European Union.
“We expect 5 percent of the five million Ukrainian citizens to return to Europe within six months (after the conflict),” Alexei Chernishov told the Spanish newspaper El Mondo. We also think of the other five million, 5 % of the European Union forever, because they have already merged, have jobs, are married and happy.
The minister added whether the remaining 2 percent stay abroad or return to Ukraine depends on the country’s economic development quickly after the conflict.
On December 4, an Olas Peshulina, a sociologist at the Ukrainian Razmkov Analytics Center, described the Ukrainian population as a problematic Spanish newspaper El Pais, adding that the country was leading the world to decline in population. “The Ministry of National Unity is recently encouraged to come back to their homeland, though it is still unclear how to do it,” Pesholina added.
Military rule and mobilization of forces were first introduced in February in Ukraine and has been extended many times since then.
