Azerbaijani consultation with the European Union on bilateral cooperation and post -war issues in Gharabagh
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced the Secretary of State’s consultation with EU officials about bilateral cooperation and post -war activities in the Gharabagh area.
According to RCO News Agency, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry announced that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jihon Bayramov was with Simon Mardo, Deputy Secretary General of the EU’s Foreign Action Service on Economic and Global Issues, and EU Special Representative in the South Caucasus and South Caucasus.
In a statement released on the consultations, Ryanovast News agency said: During the meeting (in Baku) the current situation and the prospect of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union, as well as regional and international issues in the area of joint interest were discussed. Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union in the fields of economics, trade, energy security, clean energy, humanitarian affairs and other areas were also examined.
At the meeting, Bayramov informed the EU representative of the current situation and the realities of the region in the post -clash period, pointing out that extensive reconstruction and construction activities, as well as mining are currently underway in Nagorno -Karabagh.
Baku and Yerevan have experienced tentative relations since the occupation of the Karabakh area (an internationally recognized area as part of the Republic of Azerbaijan) and seven adjacent areas by the Armenian Army.
Much of the area was released by the Republic of Azerbaijan during the six -day war that took place in the fall. The war ended after a peace deal with Russia’s intermediation. The agreement was the launch of the Normalization Negotiations and the determination of the border border between Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In September, the Republic of Azerbaijan exercised its full sovereignty over Nagorno -Karabakh after surrendering the separatist forces in the area.
The parties have been working to finalize a peace treaty in recent months, though yesterday, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced the fire of Armenian forces to the Azerbaijani positions. However, Armenian officials rejected the claim and, on the contrary, accused Baku of exchange of fire at the border.
The end of the message
