Reuters: Europe is ready to impose new sanctions on Russia
Ukrainian European allies are seeking new sanctions against Russia, according to foreign ministers of European countries and senior EU officials.
The Spanish, Germany, France, Italy, British and Poland ministers, along with senior EU diplomat and the EU Defense Commissioner, announced Monday that they are ready to impose new sanctions on Russia.
“We also use all existing tools, including the adoption of new sanctions, with the aim of preventing the country’s ability to carry out its aggressive war against Ukraine, and to ensure that Ukraine is best possible,” Reuters reported in a joint statement in Madrid on Monday’s meeting in Madrid.
