Kremlin: West thinks of war instead of thinking about peace
A Russian presidential spokesman described the European approach to the Ukrainian war as contradictory and said: “Kiev’s supporters should be interested in peace, but only talk about war and militarization.”
In a conversation with a domestic television channel, Dimitri Peskov, a spokesman for the Russian Presidential Palace (Kremlin), said: “The Western powers’ approach to the Ukrainian conflict is meaningless because they have decided to engage in unrestricted militarization rather than peace.”
Instead of dealing with the main causes of the conflict, Western countries are talking about the establishment of NATO forces on Ukraine, “he said.
Peskov noted: It is difficult to understand this widespread European military policy that there is no way to describe.
A spokesman for the Kremlin, meanwhile, acknowledged that the European Union was in trouble since the return of US President Donald Trump to the White House, which has repeatedly called on the European Union to pay more to defend itself.
“There is a new sheriff in the city,” he continued. Therefore, they are forced to leave their safe zone and they do this in an aggressive and military way. We are witnessing that French President Emmanuel Macron talks about Europe’s nuclear umbrella, and this seems very dangerous.
Peskov’s remarks came after Britain and France announced that they were ready to send Western Peace forces to Ukraine after reaching the ceasefire. Moscow has rejected the idea and insisted that it does not matter what NATO forces reach the neighboring country.
Macron also noted earlier this month that France would discuss the possibility of using its nuclear arsenal to protect its allies in Europe and urged the European Union to increase its military spending, while calling Russia a “threat”.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly blamed the speculation that Moscow can attack NATO and argues that he has no interest in doing so.
