Reports of Ukraine’s attack on Russian gas transfer facilities in Corsk
While according to a limited ceasefire agreement on Tuesday, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, Ukraine and Russia’s energy facilities should not be attacked for five days, reports that the Ukrainian army has attacked an important gas pipeline in western Russia used to deliver gas to the European Union.
According to RCO News Agency, reports released by the Ukrainian War Telegram channels, including Mash and BAZA channels, indicate that the Ukrainian armed forces have attacked and damaged the Sodja gas pipeline facility in the Korsk area on Friday morning.
Videos of the big fire as a result of the attack on the facility have also been released online. The reports have not identified whether the gas terminal was targeted by artillery attack or the target of suicide bombers.
Ukrainian military sources also reported an attack on the Sodja pipeline in the Korsk area early Friday, according to Reuters.
A Ukrainian military telegram channel also released an image of a post -explosion fire at the site, saying: “The media has reported a successful attack on the Sodja gas transfer system with which the enemy was transporting gas to Europe.”
However, neither Kiev nor Moscow officials have not yet officially released the event.
The Sodja gas pipeline transferred Russian gas to Europe until Ukraine in January of this year to renew an agreement on Russian gas transfer from its territory to Europe.
Ukraine entered the Korsk area in early August last year and occupied some areas there.
The Ukrainian army also occupied the city of Sodja and dozens of other villages during the operation, but the Russian army released the city of Sodja and its surrounding areas earlier this month, and now the latest reports of Ukrainian forces in Korsk are under siege and are in dire straits.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Tuesday with US counterpart Donald Trump that he had agreed to a six -day ceasefire proposal with Ukraine, which includes stopping attacks on energy infrastructure.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelksky had also claimed to be adhering to the deal on Thursday.
But Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova stressed on Thursday that Ukraine has “violated a limited ceasefire proposed by the US president.”
