Iran -Russia consultations on NATO threats

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Groupko recently traveled to Tehran to consult with his Iranian counterpart, Majid Takht Ranchi, according to ISNA.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also reported in a statement that the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister in Tehran had also met with the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Abbas Arakchi, consulting on the “global developments, the structure of the Eurasia, the creation of a multipolar world”.

“During the meeting with Iranian officials, it has also been discussed about the security threats from NATO, the European Union, the European Security and Cooperation Organization and the Council of Europe,” the dip also quoted the Russian diplomacy as saying.

“During these meetings, the refusal to accept the use of illegal unilateral restrictive measures in relations between countries was emphasized, and hours were spent on regional and international issues,” the news agency said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also said in a statement that “the parties pointed to their mutual interest in deepening bilateral political dialogues. “The importance of strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Brix and other formats were considered.”

“The parties also welcomed the implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Eurasia and Iran, and the agreement was reached to continue regular consultations,” the ministry added.

The consultation comes after the meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Russia, China and Iran in Beijing.
