Rwanda diplomatic relationship with Belgium – Mehr News Agency | Iranian and world news
News sources reported the disconnection of Rwanda relations with Belgium, according to Mehr News Agency.
Reuters said Rwanda’s African country has cut diplomatic relations with Belgium.
On the other hand, the Belgian Foreign Ministry said: Rwanda diplomats are undesirable people.
The Rwanda Foreign Ministry also said: “All Belgian diplomats should leave Rwanda within 4 hours.”
It is noteworthy that some time ago, Rwanda decided to suspend the development aid he received from Belgium for allegations of supporting the Democratic Republic of Congo in the current crisis between the two countries.
The Rwanda decision, which sparked widespread reactions in political and diplomatic circles, was adopted in a sensitive time that tensions between Kigali and Kinsaa over current clashes in the eastern region of Congo are on the rise.
Rwanda officials said the decision to protest what Belgium’s “public support” of the Democratic Republic of Congo has made in the fight against armed movements in the eastern country, which President Paul Kagama describes as “intervention in Rwanda’s internal affairs”.
The Rwanda government accuses the Belgian authorities of providing financial and military assistance to the Congress at a critical juncture that has made the situation more complex in an area rich in natural resources and has witnessed continuous clashes for decades.
Tensions between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo have intensified in recent months, and Rwanda accuses the Democratic Republic of Congo of supporting active armed groups in East Rwanda, while Kinsa says it is the Rwanda government that supports some insurgent groups in the area.
