Macron: Only Ukraine can decide on dispatching peacemakers, not Russia
The French president claimed that Kiev’s agreement was only a condition in deciding to send peaceful forces to Ukraine and that Russia’s agreement or disagreement is not entered into.
According to RCO News Agency, France’s President Emmanuel Macron in an interview claimed that the decision to establish these soldiers in Ukraine was only due to the British -France’s proposal and debate over the deployment of peace forces to Ukraine within any possible ceasefire agreement with Russia.
British Prime Minister Macron and Kerr Starmer are in the face of US President Donald Trump’s pressures to end the war with Russia, according to Reuters. Starmer had a virtual meeting with Macron and other Western allies supporting Ukraine other than the United States.
“Ukraine is independent,” Macron said in a joint interview with French media released late Saturday. “If he asks allied forces to be present in the soil, this is not what Russia wants to accept or not.”
Russia has repeatedly condemned Macron’s provocative proposals for sending NATO member states to Ukraine and emphasizing its opposition.
Macron said the French -British plan to send peaceful forces to Ukraine is “several thousand troops per country” in important places, and a number of European and non -European countries have been interested in participating in it.
However, more details have been discussed about the so -called Western peaceful force for Ukraine, and as many aspects of the potential ceasefire plan in Ukraine remains ambiguous.
Finnish President Alexander Stab said in an interview with the BBC that any strong commitment to the force will only be presented when there is a clear plan.
“There are up to three different ways to help them, and the establishment of the military is only one way,” Stab said. “You can talk about information, you can talk about different types of things. It is too early to want to commit something.”
Britain and France, along with Australia, have expressed their readiness to send their troops to Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that it was in favor of Washington’s proposal to set up a six -day ceasefire with Ukraine, but Russian forces will continue to war until some important conditions are created.
Ukraine and Russia continued to launch air strikes against each other’s positions that caused damage and injuries, according to officials earlier this Sunday.
