Zelnsky: We hope the US pressure is enough to force Russia to the ceasefire
“Russia is seeking to prolong the war and delay peace for the time,” the Ukrainian president wrote after receiving his team’s report on the Jeddah summit. “We hope that US pressure is enough to make Russia end the war.”
Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelksky said on Thursday evening that he received a report from the Ukrainian delegation who had traveled to Saudi Arabia to meet US officials.
“The Ukrainian delegation provided me with a detailed report on his visit to US representatives in Saudi Arabia, including the negotiations and key aspects,” he wrote on the X -Social Network.
“It is good that the dialogue was completely constructive,” the Ukrainian president added. Ukraine is committed to moving quickly to peace, and we are ready to make our share in creating all conditions for reliable, durable and appropriate peace. “I thank our teams for resuming military and intelligence assistance to Ukraine.”
“Our delegates informed the American side about Ukraine’s principled positions,” he said. Ukraine was ready for air and sea ceasefire, but the United States suggested that the ceasefire be expanded on land. Ukraine welcomes the offer. “Controlling such a ceasefire is still an important issue, and we appreciate the US willingness to organize the technical aspects of this area.”

“We talked about the need to ensure security as well as our cooperation with European partners and subsequent joint steps,” Zelnsky wrote.
“Unfortunately, it has been more than a day that the world has not yet heard a significant response from Russia to the proposals,” he said. This once again shows that Russia seeks to prolong the war and delay peace for the time. “We hope that US pressure is enough to make Russia end the war.”
Zelnsky’s remarks against Russia came as Ukraine has carried out the biggest drone attack on Russia since the war began after agreeing to the ceasefire.
On the other hand, various Moscow officials have so far described the lack of Russian conditions in the proposal and expressed their possible opposition to the temporary ceasefire.

Meet Zelnsky with Ben Salman
However, Zelnsky wrote at the end: “Our team is ready to continue cooperating with all its partners in the US, Europe and elsewhere that are committed to bringing peace closer. “We thank Saudi Arabia and personally to the Crown Prince (Mohammed bin Salman) for providing a platform for our delegations.”
