Zionist regime agree to extend the ceasefire in Gaza
The Zionist regime agreed to the US proposal to extend the ceasefire in Gaza.
According to RCO News Agency, the Zionist regime agreed Sunday morning with US envoy Steve Witekaf’s proposal to establish a temporary ceasefire during the holy month of Ramadan as well as Eid Pasha.
Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office agreed with the temporary ceasefire hours after the end of the first stage of the ceasefire agreed to.
On the first day of the ceasefire, half of the dead and live prisoners will be released, and the rest will be released after a permanent ceasefire.
Netanyahu’s office says Witcaf subsequently offered a temporary ceasefire proposal, which requires more time to negotiate to obtain permanent ceasefire.
Earlier, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassim had said the movement had opposed the Israeli plan to extend the first stage of the ceasefire without direct reference to the US plan to continue the ceasefire.
The Zionist regime has also said that Hamas is willing to negotiate quickly if I accept Witakaf’s proposal.
Hamas has announced that the remaining Israeli prisoners in Gaza will be released only through negotiation and the regime’s resort to military action will not release them.
According to the ceasefire and prisoners’ exchange, which lasted for five days, four Israeli prisoners were released from Gaza for the release of about four Palestinian captives.
According to Reuters, talks have continued to extend the agreement in Cairo and Doha, but have not yet reached a tangible result.
