As the outbreak of measles in the United States intensified during the new year, five cases of the disease have been reported. Texas, with the biggest outbreak in the last 5 years, has so far recorded 2 cases and 2 hospitalized. A vaccinated school child died in the state, the first death of measles in the United States over the past decade.
