The former US defense minister criticized Trump

In a letter to Donald Trump, the five former US defense ministers described him as politicizing the US military and using the expulsion, which also reached high -ranking ground, air and naval officials, in order to remove legal barriers to their power.

The letter was signed by four former defense ministers who were operating in Democratic governments, as well as Trump’s first presidential defense James Matisse, according to Reuters.

“Trump’s actions are weakening the entirely volunteer army and weakening the US national security,” they wrote.

In addition to Matisse, William Perry, Leon Panetta, Chuck Hagel and Lloyd Austin, all of whom were the Secretary of Defense during the Democratic presidency, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Defense Minister Joe Biden.

The former US defense officials also called on the House of Representatives and the Senate to hold meetings to evaluate the possibilities of national security following Trump’s efforts to dismiss these senior military officials.

The letter warned that the Pentagon’s actions could prevent Americans from choosing to work in the military if the American military profession is judged by party policy.

In another part of the letter, they also warned that these measures may cause some people to refrain from telling the truth or criticizing powers and authorities for fear of consequences or negative reactions. This can lead to a reduction in transparency and accountability in society.

The five former Pentagon senior officials also wrote: “We insist on Congress to hold Trump responsible for these reckless actions and to fully monitor the constitutional responsibility. “US senators should refuse to approve any new candidate at the Defense Ministry.”
