Putin: We are ready to resume cooperation with the US
The Russian president says Moscow is ready to resume cooperation with Washington.
According to RCO News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that “we are ready to resume cooperation with the US.”
“Not all countries are pleased with the negotiations between Russia and the United States, some are seeking to destroy it,” he said in a speech to senior members of the Russian Federal Security Service. “All diplomatic and intelligence sources must be used to counter the efforts of Western elites to disrupt negotiations between Russia and the United States.”
“Moscow will protect its national interests against any threat,” the Russian president said. Western elites seek to maintain instability and chaos around the world. “Any attempt to create divisions in Russian society must be stopped.”
In this regard, Putin ordered the Russian Federal Security Service to protect the security of all Russian citizens and its borders.
He also issued a new order to Russian special security services to find new ways to counter cyber attacks: “Cyber attacks on Russian infrastructure have intensified.”
The first calls with the new US government give special hopes
“The first contacts with the new US government create special hopes,” the Russian president also said, referring to his government talks with the United States. Look, we all see how the world is changing rapidly. Changes in the international arena are mostly due to the stability of the Russian armed forces on the battlefield. “
“It is important for our partners to abandon ideological stereotypes that weaken not only the international system, but also the Western society itself,” he added.
“We have never rejected a conversation to find a peaceful solution to the Ukrainian issue,” Putin added.
Trump is ready to hear other people’s words
Earlier, Russian Presidential Palace spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia and the US have a wide range of cooperation with each other: but there is still no fundamental discussion.
Referring to the launch of Russian and US representatives on the work of the embassies of the two countries held today in Istanbul, he said, Moscow proposes not to go ahead of the results of the Russian -US summit in Istanbul and wait for it to be completed.
President Donald Trump is ready to hear what others say, and Moscow is seeing it, unlike former President Joe Biden, Peskov said.
A spokesman for the Kremlin added: “If there is a political will and a willingness to listen to each other and continue, Russia and the United States will be able to go through the work process.”
