Russia rejected a drone attack on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine
The Kremlin on Friday denied Ukraine’s charges that a Russian drone had attacked the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
According to RCO News Agency, The International Atomic Energy Agency announced on Friday that last night, an explosion occurred in the Chernobyl power plant reactor structure, which caused fire.
Ukraine and the International Atomic Energy Agency said that despite the explosion at the power plant, the level of radiation remains stable.
Although the nuclear agency did not determine the cause of the attack, Ukrainian President Walodimir Zelksky blamed a Russian drone as a leader and said the attack had caused “significant” damage.
“The only country in the world that attacks such institutions occupies nuclear power plants and wages a war regardless of the consequences, Russia is modern -day Russia,” Zelnsky said. “This is a terrorist threat against the whole world.”
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, denied the allegations of Russia involved in the attack and told reporters that the claim was “fabricated”.
“The Russian army does not do so,” he said.
