Trump’s action against South Africa
The US president stopped assisting South Africa by signing an executive order.
US President Donald Trump stopped assisting South Africa by signing an executive order, according to ISNA.
Trump has taken the move under the pretext of a land reform law in South Africa as well as its foreign policy.
Trump recently claimed without evidence that “South Africa is confiscating land and treating some minority groups”.
According to Middel II, Trump has also taken the move on the pretext of expanding South African relations with Iran, as well as the Zionist regime, not Hamas, to the Hague Divan for genocide in Gaza.
In this executive decree, Trump claims that South Africa’s actions in foreign policy, including political and military cooperation with Iran, are a threat to the US interests, its allies and African partners in Washington.
The White House statement said: “South African’s offensive approaches to the United States and its allies, including Israel’s accusation of genocide in the International Criminal Court and strengthening relations with Iran to establish commercial, military and nuclear arrangements.”
The United States said, “The United States cannot support violations of human rights and weaken US foreign policy by the South African government.”
South African President Cyril Ramafosa had earlier said his country would not surrender to American bullying.
