There is no clear consensus about the future of Syria at the international level – Mehr News Agency RCO News Agency
Mehr News Agency, International Group, Elnaz Rahmatnejad: The Zionist regime started its advances in Syria one day after the fall of Assad. In these advances, the Zionists targeted the military and security centers of the Syrian army, and according to experts and experts, large parts of the Syrian air force, navy, and defense and missile systems were damaged during the Zionist advances. The Syrian media also announced that the Zionists occupied the Golan Heights and Mount Hermon in parallel with the attack and bombing of the military and security centers of the Syrian Army.
Under the pretext of examining the advancements of the Zionist regime, we had a conversation with Dr. Saadullah Zarei, an international expert. detailed It follows:
* The Zionists started their advances one day after the fall of Assad, how long will these advances continue? What is the purpose of the Zionist regime’s actions in Syria?
The Zionist regime was already prepared to carry out heavy military operations in Syria. About three months ago, there were news that the Zionists are doing engineering work at the border point between the Zionist forces and the Syrian government forces. Some information centers gave the necessary warnings. Basically, one of the cases that there was a coordination in the overthrow of the Syrian government is the same events that were observed by the Zionist regime.
When a Palestinian group attacked the village of Majdal al-Shams near the zero point of the border in defense of Gaza, the Zionists accused Hezbollah that this was done by you and led to the death of a number of ordinary citizens, they came with these accusations and They justified their engineering operations.
After the fall of the Syrian government, these operations intensified and continued until today, and this war machine has not stopped. Significant parts of the borders of Lebanon and Syria have been practically occupied by the Zionists. A border strip has been occupied by them. At the same time as these advances, the Zionist occupiers, despite apparently accepting the ceasefire with Lebanon, carried out their own offensive operations in the Marjayoun area and the area adjacent to the border of northern Palestine and southeastern Syria, and it continues. The bombing of the western Bekaa region was something new and had not happened during this year and a few years. After the ceasefire, it doesn’t make sense that the Zionists want to attack the West Bekaa, but they did it. The extension of this operation from inside Lebanon to inside Syria shows a calculated design. No action is taken against these attacks. Türkiye has the ability to react, but they do not react, instead they talk about the friendship between the Zionist regime and Syria in the future.
The actions of the Zionists are an act of aggression that they carry out with the aim of expanding their influence in Syria so that they can dominate the strategic areas, especially the heights of Jabal al-Sheikh and Mount Hermon.
* Parts of Syria are occupied. Why doesn’t Jolani react to advances?
Al-Jolani came to work based on an agreement. The evidence points to an agreement between the Americans and the Zionists and Türkiye and the Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group. The aggressive actions of the occupiers are not so great that al-Jolani cannot stand and deal with them. Certainly, the Syrian people have a different story; They will not tolerate the occupation of their country. The anti-Zionist feelings of these people are strong and they will not allow the occupation to continue in the future. Now, because the people do not have power and Syria is not in order, the Zionists think that they can achieve goals for which they would have to pay a lot of money under normal conditions.
* Recently, Jolani announced that the constitution of Syria needs three years and elections will not be held in Syria for another four years. Does this mean a dictatorship and elimination of the opposition from Jolani?
Elections, constitution, national unity and people’s participation in the government will have no place in the Jolani regime. Al-Jolani plans to create a new tribal caliphate in Syria. This caliphate is not based on collective will but on individual will. It is a structure and organization that will provide the interests of some governments in the region and at the international level. Al-Jolani said that we need three years to draft the constitution, or we need four years to hold elections, but we will see that the constitution will not be written. Because the constitution is restrictive. Puts in a box. Groups like Tahrir al-Sham do not want to be included in the frame. They like to be free and bring and take whatever laws they want. No one should tell them that you must be responsible based on such and such clause. Elections are not compatible with caliphate. They accept the revival of a form of empire based on individual power and relying on a clan and group. A strong and limited structure that surrounds the caliph and guarantees the survival of his rule. Therefore, there will be no elections. The people of Syria will not see the color of the elections as long as the Jolani regime rules there.
Some analysts believe that Syria will go towards disintegration. What is your assessment about this?
Syria has been divided since 2013-2012. Right now, parts of Syria, including al-Bab and Manbij, are under Türkiye’s control. After the recent developments in Aleppo, it has been added to them. Aleppo is practically under the control of Erdogan and Türkiye. The Turks do not allow even a single Syrian soldier to enter this area. Recently, when Erdoğan came and spoke, according to the Lausanne Agreement, which is related to the end of World War I, these areas were supposed to be part of Türkiye. It has been broken and these areas should be like our Hatai area. In fact, he has an eye on the whole of Syria.
Americans also occupy parts of Syria and in the recent incident they developed the occupied area. SDF forces work with the Americans. Zionist occupation is also visible in Syria. Before the changes, three quarters of Quneitra province was under the control of the Zionist regime, now they have occupied the entire province. Below the Quneitra region, it has entered the borders of Damascus and Lebanon. All these cannot have any other name than decomposition.
* Will the policy of separation be limited to these?
I don’t think that the desires of the Zionists and Türkiye will be limited to the current size of their occupation. The Turks will definitely expand their occupation and they don’t care if al-Jolani agrees or not. Al-Jolani will not show a strong reaction, as he did not show in the case of the Zionist regime. The situation in Syria is complex. Syria has been divided into pieces. The situation is heading towards chaos. Unforeseen events may happen.
Is there a clear consensus on the future of Syria at the international level?
Regarding the developments in Syria, we are witnessing various opinions and issues within it and in the regional environment. The collection of these shows that the future situation of Syria, especially its political system, is not certain.
The terrorist group Tahrir al-Sham claims that it intends to bring a technocratic or pragmatic government to work and avoids using words like caliphate and Islamic state. Turkey has talked about a series of principles, including an inclusive government, which means a government that includes all ethnic groups and groups and does not pose a threat to its neighbors and manages Syria’s internal issues in an integrated manner. The Arab League summit was quickly held in Jordan. The Arab governments did not convene a meeting so quickly regarding other developments, including the developments in Palestine and Gaza, that they convened a special meeting in this regard with the presence of all the officials of the Arab governments. In this meeting, they issued a statement in which several things were emphasized. One of those cases was the territorial integrity of Syria and the inclusive Arab state connected to the Arab League. In the mentioned statement, they wanted the index of Syria’s future foreign policy to be the same as the indicators of the Arab League. At the regional level, there is no agreed form on the future of Syria. The Americans, in their comments about Syria and the new elements in it, seek to obtain the necessary information about the goals and policies of these new elements. All this shows that there is no clear consensus on the future of Syria at the international level.
* What political system can be established in Syria?
The majority of Syrians are Arabs. Therefore, a government should be formed that is mainly Arab in nature. At the same time, Syria is a country made up of large minorities. Alevis make up 13 to 15 percent of the Syrian population. Christians make up 8-9% of Syria’s population. Kurds also have a significant population. Among the Arabs, there are different types of Sunnis. Sunni populations do not have a unified status inside Syria. There are differences between the Sunnis of Aleppo, the Sunnis of Damascus, and the Sunnis of Homs. In terms of the class of political servants, we see different groups with different tendencies. ISIS is looking for a caliphate. Many groups are secular and advocate a secular government based on elections. Tahrir al-Sham does not speak clearly, and at the same time, in order to create confidence and his government can be formed in a calm environment, he talks about the inclusive technocrat government.
* Due to the fact that Syria was the axis of feeding the resistance in terms of logistics. With the fall of Assad, what is the future for the region, the resistance and developments in Syria?
Syria played a supporting role for Hezbollah in Lebanon and Palestine, but not all support for Hezbollah in Lebanon and Palestine was provided through Syria. Between 1390 and 1392, the relations between Syria and the Palestinians went towards absolute coldness. There was no relationship between Bashar al-Assad and the leadership of Hamas, but Hamas was strengthened during this period. This Islamic resistance group has produced some of its weapons by itself, but some of them have been obtained from outside. Definitely, these were not from Syria. For this reason, the path is not closed to Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Some restrictions were created, but at the same time, the land, sea and sky roads are open to the Lebanese resistance. Syria also does not have a stable situation where we can say that it is not possible to help Hezbollah from Syria for a long time. We cannot say this definitively, but we can definitively say that if all the doors of Syria are closed, the breathing and equipping of Hezbollah will not be closed. Lebanon is not a closed space like Gaza. It has a beach. The government has Hezbollah is inside the government. This land is not connected to only one place, unlike Gaza, which is currently connected only to the Zionist regime. Lebanese beaches are not under embargo. Hezbollah can be supported through the sea. Lebanon’s internal relations are also different from Gaza’s internal relations. The Lebanese government supports Hezbollah. Because a large part of Lebanon’s security is provided by Hezbollah. Hezbollah’s space will not be closed in terms of equipment and there is no concern. For this reason, the Zionists, who know that the change in the atmosphere in Syria has no effect on Hezbollah’s power, have come to implement and follow the behavioral model of dignity in Syria during the time of Assad in Lebanon. During the time of Bashar al-Assad, their hands were open, they came and targeted different areas, and there was no reaction from the government of al-Assad. They intend to implement this model in Lebanon, and despite the fact that there is fire, the behavior of the Zionists is based on the development of an attack on Lebanon, so that they can keep an open hand for themselves.
The past is the beacon of the future. Whoever wants to see the future must also see the past. At what point has the resistance been in the last 40 years? At what point was it 30 years ago, 20 years ago, 10 years ago? Where is it today? Has the course of resistance been progressive or downward? Has it fluctuated? Sometimes it falls and sometimes it rises. What can be seen in these four decades is the increasing course of resistance. 2011-2017, Syria was drowning in crisis. The resistance struggled to get out of this crisis and achieve victory. The news indicated that it is not possible for the resistance to hold the Assad government, but it did. In the middle of this incident, a great uprising and revolution took place in Yemen, which became known as the Jara’a Revolution. A strong resistance government emerged from the heart of Yemen. No one knows yet what will happen in Syria. Everyone knows that the Assad government has fallen, but has the resistance disappeared along with the Assad government? Have the Syrian people lost their spirit of resistance and anti-Zionism? Will the Syrian youth remain silent in the face of all these invasions and occupations? The study and research institutions of the Zionist regime believe that a new Syrian Hezbollah will emerge from the Syrian developments. If this new Hezbollah is formed in Syria, it will be much more effective than a trapped government.
Hazrat Agha pointed out that we have definite evidence that the developments in Syria are an American-Zionist plan. Is it possible to mention any evidence that he was acting with America and the Zionist regime?
What the Zionist regime did two and three months after the fall of the Syrian government is a sign that they knew about future events. They came under the pretext of Majdal al-Shams incident and started engineering works. They also announced that we will deploy troops here soon. Soon we will increase the number of settlers in Golan and 2 thousand will be added. All this is a sign that the Zionists knew something that they confidently started the engineering operation of Shaan three months before the events in Syria. On the other hand, the Americans in this scene from the first day and from 4:50 am on the 7th of December, when the Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group broke the borders of Idlib and flowed towards Aleppo, the Americans crossed the borders of Iraq and Syria on Iraqi and Iranian planes that could enter Syria was closed. They also closed the land borders and did not allow a person to be transferred from the other side of the border to this side of the border.
Recently, the American Council on Foreign Relations published an article. He said that the Turks did not know the time of the attack. We do not confirm that Türkiye did not know. They intend to whitewash Turkey and cover up its direct involvement. Because this has consequences for Türkiye and Jolani. If Erdogan did not know the time of the attack, then who did? How do you know that Erdogan did not know? The US Department of Defense Pentagon came at the same time and said that we were monitoring the movements and were aware of what happened. It is quite clear that this is a scenario. The designers of this scenario are America and the Zionist regime. The coordinating government is Türkiye. Al-Jolani and the terrorist members of his group are in charge of the executive team. Since the fall of Assad, we have witnessed a series of events that evoke a kind of overlap. Türkiye is advancing, no one is saying anything. Al-Jolani and America are silent. Shouldn’t the Damascus government react to the advance of a foreign government? The Americans, who have a military base there, should Türkiye not react to the area under the occupation of the SDF, which cooperates with the Americans? When the Zionist regime continues its advances in Syria and reaches near Damascus and captures 30 kilometers of the borders of Syria and Lebanon behind Damascus, shouldn’t Jolani protest? The incidents and conflicts that happened in Latakia, Tartus and Homs. The sanctities of Christians and Alevis have been insulted, it is necessary to protest. But where is the objection of gentlemen?
You put Al-Qaeda, Daesh and Al-Nusra in the list of terrorists, if Al-Jolani came from there. How could you send a delegation to come and negotiate with al-Jolani immediately after he captured Damascus? If this is not harmony, what is?
Why did this not happen in Afghanistan when the Taliban came to power? How did the delegations not go there? But in Syria, the delegations have been going back and forth regularly since the beginning. Damascus is in traffic.
* We are in the week of resistance. What was Sardar Soleimani’s role in regional security and the defeat of terrorists?
Five years have passed since the martyrdom of Sardar Soleimani, and Qassem Soleimani’s name is still mentioned in the western and eastern media. Several centers of western studies mentioned the name of Shahid Soleimani. On the occasion of any development in the region, Sardar’s name is mentioned. The region is tied to Qassem Soleimani. Sardar left very deep works that were not lost or reduced by his martyrdom. Sardar Soleimani did not put up a coup in the region. He did not launch an assassination operation. He did not occupy anyone’s land.
Sardar Soleimani has been a savior, helper and sacrificer in the region. He did not sit in an iron room to call the nations to something. He was in the field and was martyred. Qassem Soleimani has done great things. The liberation of Iraq from the American occupation was not an easy task. In 1381 and early 1382, some inside Iran wrote a letter to negotiate with the Americans so that Iran is not occupied. The atmosphere was one of terror. The fear was reasonable. 300,000 armed American and British military and intelligence forces had poured into Iraq. Sardar removed Iraq from occupation in such an environment.
April 20, 1382 is the day of the fall of Saddam Hussein and the beginning of the military occupation of Iraq by the Americans. Between 20 April 1382 and 15 December 1384, the page changed in Iraq and the Americans supported the Iraqi government. Elections were held. The pressure increased to such an extent for the Americans that he signed his exit paper, which has never happened in history for the Americans to go anywhere and leave. The Mujahidt expelled the Americans from Iraq. General Soleimani closed the American petition in less than three years and they were forced to sign the withdrawal form. He signed the withdrawal form in 2007 and started withdrawing his troops in 2008 and Iraq was empty of American troops in 2010. They wanted to implement this occupation scene in Syria against the resistance, which they did. The measures, intelligence, precision, wisdom and power of General Soleimani’s command in Iraq made the Americans leave. Eight months before Sardar’s martyrdom, I went to his office. I saw with my own eyes that Sardar is managing four fronts and the international scene of Iraq, Palestine, Yemen and Lebanon. Sardar did not travel to Yemen. He had no active communication with Lebanon. He did not interact with Palestine. But he managed with wisdom, tact and honor, and the combination of these made Soleimani an attractive and pleasant and legendary figure for the nations.
We can take Sardar Soleimani by the hand and say that this is how we acted. We were not coup plotters. We were not occupiers. We were not violators of rights. We offered our lives for the nations. We presented our leader. We were in the front line of defending the nations. We helped the nations with our flesh, skin and blood without occupying a single part of the country’s soil. Sardar Soleimani did not occupy a single piece of land in the entire region. Qassem Soleimani proved that with brotherhood and spirituality it is possible to create a power that is a security generator. Soleimani created an umbrella in the region that awakened the nations against their enemies. No foreign power can ignore Soleimani’s security umbrella. Soleimani is not there, but Soleimani’s security umbrella is in the region. Soleimani’s lessons remain and his students are in the whole region. The people of the region understood with Soleimani that they have the power to face the oppression in the region.
