2,600 British soldiers are sent to NATO’s eastern front
More than 2,600 British troops are being sent to NATO’s eastern frontline in order to “show power and intimidate Vladimir Putin.”
According to Isna, these forces are going to participate in the NATO exercise called “Steadfast Dart 2025”, which will be held with the presence of defense officials and with the aim of showing readiness, ability and commitment.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, in this exercise, NATO’s quick reaction to a possible Russian attack on England is supposed to be practiced.
Romania and Bulgaria are going to host exercises with the presence of British forces. Also, this exercise coincides with the third year of Russia’s attack on Ukraine, which is next month.
Last month, a British defense official said: “The London government wants England to be the leading European country in NATO. This exercise demonstrates our unwavering commitment to NATO and highlights the key role of British leadership in this alliance. As the Ukraine conflict approaches its third year, we must strengthen our collective defenses to deter Putin.”
The British Ministry of Defense announced in a statement that in addition to 2,600 soldiers, 370 vehicles are also used in this exercise.
