Zakharova: Washington and Kiev are to blame for stopping the transfer of Russian gas to Europe
The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that this country holds Washington and Kyiv responsible for stopping the flow of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine.
According to RCO News Agency, “Maria Zakharova”, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a statement on Thursday saying: “The responsibility for stopping the supply of Russian gas lies entirely with the United States, the puppet regime of Kiev and the authorities of European countries, which sacrifice the welfare of their citizens to financially support American economy.”
According to “Novosti” News agency, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry added: “Ukraine stopped the transit of Russian gas for geopolitical reasons. “The main beneficiary of these changes in the European energy market is the United States.”
Zakharova also said: “Stopping the supply of environmentally friendly energy not only weakens Europe’s economic potential, but also has the most negative impact on the standard of living of European citizens.”
Based on a five-year agreement signed in 2019, Ukraine allowed Russia to send its gas to Europe through Ukrainian territory, but this agreement expired with the arrival of the new year, while Ukraine also responded to Russia’s attack on the territory. He has opposed the extension of this agreement.
