According to RCO News Agency, quoted by Al-Nahar newspaper, the Maaloula area located in the suburbs of Damascus, where the majority of its residents are Christians, witnessed many tensions and conflicts yesterday. During the attack of a masked person on another person’s agricultural land and shooting at him and killing the owner of the land, the residents of Maaloula protested against the lack of security.
In addition, elements of the terrorist organizations of Tahrir al-Sham have started a massive wave of arrests of various people who they believe were connected with Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Meanwhile, many party and political activists and famous personalities have been arrested in Maaloula by terrorist elements under various pretexts. Residents of this area have criticized terrorists’ attacks on private homes and breaking down doors to detain Syrian citizens.
In addition, the number of thefts and assaults in Maaloula has increased so much that some residents of this area have decided to leave. Videos have also been published online showing that Christians with disabilities were forced to leave this area.
After the fall of the Assad regime and the spread of insecurity in Syria, more than 140 people have lost their lives in different regions of the country.
