Aliyev: The plane crashed under the influence of external factors

According to Insa, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said after the conversation with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Due to the professionalism of the pilots – they were able to land the plane.

Aliyev says that a commission of international experts has been formed to investigate the causes of the plane crash near Aktao and has started its work.

At the same time, Putin has apologized to the Republic of Azerbaijan in a phone call with Aliyev.

The crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane in the morning of Wednesday, December 25 with 67 passengers left 38 dead and 29 people were rescued.

Flight J2-8243, which had left Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, for the city of Grozny in Russia, had to change its route for unknown reasons and had to make an emergency landing about 3 kilometers from the city of “Aghtav” in Kazakhstan.

This landing was accompanied by the fire of the plane and the destruction of half of its body, leaving significant casualties.

Both pilots of this plane were killed in this incident.
