Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill that would increase penalties, some up to life in prison, for those who organize or participate in armed riots that result in death or other serious consequences.
According to RCO News Agency, according to this law, organizing or leading an armed rebellion in order to overthrow or forcefully change the constitutional order of Russia or violate the territorial integrity of this country, will be sentenced to 15 to 20 years in prison.
According to Novosti News agency, in this law, which was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, participating in an armed rebellion for the same purpose leads to imprisonment from 12 to 20 years.
According to documents published in Russian state media today (Saturday), Putin also signed a bill that would punish a foreigner for up to 15 years in prison for aiding the enemy in activities against Russian security.
Putin has also signed a law introducing a court-ordered mechanism to temporarily suspend the ban on a terrorist organization. These amendments are aimed at making it possible to temporarily suspend the ban on the activities of an organization that has been included in the list of terrorist organizations by court order.
