Half of Ukrainians consider Trump useful for peace
Half of the citizens of Ukraine believe that the victory of Donald Trump in the American elections can speed up the peace process in the war in Ukraine.
According to RCO News Agency, a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology shows that nearly half of Ukrainians (45%) believe that the victory of “Donald Trump” in the US presidential election will accelerate the establishment of peace in the war in Ukraine.
According to the poll, 14% of Ukrainian citizens believe that Trump’s victory in the elections will delay peace, and 40% say that his presidency will not affect the peace process.
The survey also showed that 23% of Ukrainian citizens believe that the peace agreement will be fair for Ukraine to a large extent. On the other hand, 31% believe that this agreement is unfair to a large extent.
29% of the respondents also believe that a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia will include the demands of both countries.
This survey was conducted from December 2 to 17 through telephone interviews. 985 Ukrainian citizens participated in this survey and its margin of error is 4.1%.
According to Sputnik News agency, Trump, who won the US presidential election, is scheduled to enter the White House on January 20 next year. He had previously said that he could resolve the war in Ukraine through negotiations. Trump even claimed that he would end this conflict within 24 hours.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia has agreed to at least three proposals for peace in the Ukraine war, but it is Kiev that opposes negotiations.
