The spokesman of the Kremlin said on Friday that the investigation into the crash of the passenger plane of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the west of Kazakhstan is underway, and the Kremlin will not comment before the official results of the investigation are published.
According to Isna, on the morning of Wednesday, December 25, the passenger plane Embraer 190 of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was flying from the city of Baku to Grozny, Russia, crashed near the city of Aktau in the west of Kazakhstan. The Federal Aviation Administration of Russia (RosAviatsia) announced that after the plane collided with a group of birds, the captain of the plane decided to divert the route and land at the airport of Aktau, Kazakhstan. According to the announcement of the Republic of Azerbaijan Airlines, there were 62 passengers and five flight crew in this plane, and according to the announcement of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan, 29 passengers of this plane were saved from the crash.
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Kremlin, stated in a conversation with reporters: “Until the results of the investigation are made public, we do not consider ourselves qualified for any evaluation and we will not do such a thing.” We also have aviation authorities who can do this. On the other hand, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced this Friday that the officials of this office were present in Grozny, Russia, and together with their Russian counterparts, they are investigating the crash of this plane.
In the statement of this prosecutor’s office, it is mentioned: “Necessary measures in the criminal case related to the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane near Octav Kazakhstan with the aim of Determination of the objective causes of this fall have been adopted. A group of employees of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan have been sent to Grozny and are conducting investigations and other procedural issues together with colleagues from the Prosecutor General’s Office. They are the Russian Federation.
According to the announcement of this office, another group of employees was sent to Octave on December 25 and they continue to implement the necessary measures together with colleagues from Kazakhstan at the place of the plane crash.
The Turkish “Sabah” newspaper quoted sources and wrote that the Republic of Azerbaijan has requested a Turkish expert group to investigate the crash of the Azerbaijani plane near Octav.
This newspaper reported that Turkish experts in the field of civil aviation are expected to investigate this incident together with Kazakh colleagues, and Turkish experts will cooperate with the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan and provide them with relevant findings.
Earlier, some sources claimed that the plane of the Azerbaijan Airlines was shot down by the Russian air defense system.
